The first course is occurring in the Kurtzman Room in the William Pitt Union on Wednesday, October 13th. The event starts at 7:00pm. It will be a beginner’s level class meant to introduce the basics of crocheting, including the different kinds of yarn and materials and how to start a project from the very beginning. Students will begin crocheting a basic beanie within the 2-hour class with the help of instructors from McWalker Yarns of Millvale, PA. All materials, including yarns, hooks, and patterns, will be provided.
The second course will occur on Wednesday, November 10th in the Ballroom in the William Pitt Union. The event starts at 7:00 pm. In this course, students will begin a new project of slightly higher difficulty in an effort to sharpen their skills and build off of what they learned in the first course. Students will be learning how to make a small octopus, called Amigurumi. All materials, including yarns, hooks, and patterns, will be provided.
20 spots are available. Tickets sales will start Monday, September 27th and run until Monday, October 11th. Tickets can be purchased in the Pitt Program Council office in M-30 in the William Pitt Union.
