Join the Pitt Program Council as we admire the painting of Jasmine Green!

This work serves as a catalog of black womanhood; it tells “the story of black womanhood [that] was erased from the story of blackness. Much of the work is painted onto plywood, which tends to be discarded after it is no longer needed to build something great, instead of being repurposed and simply being something great. By using these boards for art, they become, themselves, something worthy of admiration. Therefore, the way in which the art is presented, as well as its subject matter, both become what the artist believes symbolically represent black womanhood.
